The budget is directly proportional to the amount of total emissions calculated. Based on scientific data available so far, the average of CO2 retained by growing trees in the tropical rainforests from southeastern Brazil is estimated in 145.5 kg. Using the obtained tree number we can establish the area where will be evolved in the process through the model of a minimum of 1667 trees that should be planted by hectare. From this assumption we relate each one of the total hectares to a single family obtaining the number of people that will be directly attended during the process.
The assumptions are all translated in a previously calculated value per ton of Greenhouse gases emissions, which based on the Brazilian reality is expressed in the local currency, the Real (R$). The cost per ton is R$ 97.62. As the local Exchange rate from R$ to U$ have been in the last couple of years stabilized around R$ 1.70 per U$ 1 we could say that the value necessary to offset one ton of GHG would be more or less around U$ 57.42.
