CEDRUS project (ECSRD - "Research & Educational Center for Sustainable Rural Development") aims on being a reference point for trade of sustainable rural practices in São Paulo's "Green Belt", an important area for Organic Agriculture. The objective is to create, with the involvement and participation of local community, a center for education, research and agroecology experiences.
Our goal is to search for experimental models for recovery of degraded areas and implementation of Demonstratives Unities of Agroforestry Systems.
These models will be the basis for deployment of Agroforestry in the area, and will also sustain our project. Activities of Education and Research are focused on farmers of our surroundings (Districts of: Verava, Terra Boa, Robeiros, Rodrigues, Cachoeira) in partnership with universities, farmer's associations, city government, CATI, EMBRAPA, students and project interns (Brazilian and foreigners).
We organize courses, field trips, master classes, volunteer works, and research activities on demonstrative unities.
The project focuses on three important points:
1. Education & Research;
2. Agroforestry Development;
3. Rural, Educational, Ecological and Adventure Tourism (Spa Ventura Project)
